For the 25th time, the independent filmmakers of the world gather in Los Angeles two days before the Academy Awards to give out awards for the best features of the year.

Nominees were selected from 240 submissions and nominees for Best Feature include (500) Days Of Summer, Amreeka, Precious, Sin Nombre and The Last Station. Taraji P. Henson and Matt Dillon also announced finalists for the Acura Someone to Watch Award, the Truer Than Fiction Award, and the Piaget Producers Award.

In the acting categories we find notables such as Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth, Maria Bello, Helen Mirren, Gwyneth Paltrow,Woody Harrelson and Christopher Plummer. This year's event is hosted by Eddie Izzard.
